Basil is a heat-loving plant and does not like cold: in the refrigerator, the leaves will turn black and limp within a day. Place the stems in a glass of water on the counter like a bouquet of flowers, out of direct sunlight. This way it stays good for days. Parsley and cilantro, on the other hand, can be put in the refrigerator.
